Career Jump! creates a college-focused school culture to promote and prepare students and families for summer enrichment programs, and to reflect on their experiences during the fall.
The Power to Change challenges students to reach for adulthood by learning to constructively and creatively deal with their emotions.
The Mikva Challenge gets students actively involved in the local political scene.
Student Government works to give students a valued voice in the way the school is run. Members meet weekly to plan dances, fundraisers, and other all-school activities.
The Cheerleading Team supports Chicago Talent’s athletic teams, performing at games and at pep rallies during the school day. The team meets weekly to choreograph and practice routines, focusing on techniques like tumbling, jumps, stunts, and of course, cheers!
The Pom Pom Squad and Dance Team focus on the art of dance, choreographing complicated routines that incorporate hip-hop, jazz, and classical dance styles. We perform at sporting events and at pep rallies, inspiring and motivating our sports teams to victory!
Newspaper Club meets weekly to write, edit, and publish The West-Side Wonder, our monthly school newspaper. We work to foster knowledge and interest in journalism and current events, while developing the writing skills that are crucial to students’ academic achievement.

After-School Tutoring is held Monday through Thursday, in all subjects. Students receive personalized, often one-on-one homework help.
Camp of Dreams offers a variety of year-round leadership and cultural enrichment programs to students. Activities are available in a wide range of areas: academics, visual and performing arts, mind and body, health and wellness, and civic engagement. This program also includes a 3 week overnight camp in July, and a series of Community Days throughout the school year. |
